Upstairs roommate says "cold showers"! Dual handled fixture, has good force from both handles, cold water from both handles. Same bathroom sink has hot water and the lower floor bath has hot water in both tub and sink. What happening here? Need hot showers upstairs.

You probably need to repair your diverter valve (middle handle).
See "Repair/Fix-It" above and go to http://www.bhglive.com/homeimp/ and follow the Plumbing section links to Faucets, find your type, and see an illustrated how-to.
Good Luck!

If you are getting cold water out of both tub/shower handles, when it feeds to tub only. It is not the diverter. And you said dual handles, so the diverter is on the tub spout? Is this a shower only, or shower over tub?

When did the problem start? Have you checked to see if the hot water shutoff valve is open to the shower (behind the shower wall)?

Please post back with more info.
