How to Connect 1/2” PEX to 3/8” Tubing?

I am trying to hookup my reverse osmosis filter to the refrigerator line. The line out of the RO uses 3/8” OD tubing and the refrigerator has 1/2” PEX (1/2” CTS).

I’m going crazy trying to find some sort of reducing union for this. Any ideas?

How about an angle stop? There are 1/2" PEX x 3/8" tube angle stops available. A sharkbite angle stop would be very easy.

Good find! The only issue I (potentially) see with that is that it’s brass. From what I’ve read, the recommendation for RO water is generally poly/plastic - since the water has all minerals/chemicals removed from it, there is a natural attraction for it to start to break down the brass...or something scientific like that. 😜

How far is the RO from the fridge? A water line to a fridge is typically 3/8".

The RO is being installed in the basement, and then it is about a 25' run to the fridge. The outlet on the RO is 3/8" OD tubing, which will run into a delivery/demand pump (also 3/8" OD) to maintain water pressure. From there, it needs to connect to the 1/2" PEX line that runs to the ice maker outlet box behind the fridge.
