Is a 2" drain line big enough for a washer?
Putting a new drain line in for my washer, I was going to run a 2" drain line down the wall to put the washer hose into. If I run a 2" line down my wall and 30' across my basement to the sump pump will that 2" line handle all that water or will it back up over the top of the pipe? I could also run 2" down the wall into a 3" pipe across my basement if it's better doing it that way..

2" is the minimum size required by code and I have never heard of it not being adequate. People used to run 1 1/2" and it mostly worked. With new water saving washing machines it's not as big a deal as they use so much less water.

You're going to dump your washer into a sump pit ?
Be sure to filter for the lint or your pump will become clogged.

Either solution will work. 2” pipe is code approved for any length you might run into in a residence.
You can also dump into a utility sink and use 1.5” from there.
I personally like the 2” standpipe, the soapy water discoloration the wash tubs after a while... but whatever works for you!
