Exclamation Leaking pipe cap

Hi this is my first post, recently i remove a part of my piping and capped it. The issue I'm having is that i can't get the cap to be water tight. This is even after I've put a godly amount of white tape. attached are the before and after picture for perspective. Any advise on what i can do to get it water tight?

That's a compression fitting. You need to buy a 3/8 ? compression cap. You do not use TFE tape. with it. It will have an "O" ring to seal the fitting.

Compression caps are pretty rare. Your local store may need to order it for you or you can order it online.

A compression cap should come with a ferrule. I'm not sure if a cap will work by itself.
It's been a while since I've capped one off.
