Question

I have a kitchen sink problem. Whenever I turn either hot, or cold water on, there is hardly any water pressure until I
open the spray nozzle attachment. Then the pressure increases
but not all the time. I heard that there is something called a compensator, in the main body, but I do not know how to fix. Please help.I think the faucet is an "elger"

Cool

For illustrated how-to info go to "Repair/Fix-It" above and to http://www.bhglive.com/homeimp/ and follow the links in the Plumbing sections until you find the type of faucet that you have.
Good Luck!

There is a thing called a deverter in the spout that controls the water from the spout to the spray. It can get corroded and cause this problem, but I think it may be more than that. you may have trash in the faucet or supply lines.I would also try to flush system out by unhooking the supply lines and then turning water back on and flush into a bucket.there are several things that can cause this. good luck
