Tuesday night there was a humming noise about the pitch a woman might make. After 20 minutes of running around the house I touched the Keurig and it stopped. Figured that was it and left it unplugged. Wednesday night it started again. The only thing in the area was the sink, so I turned the water on and it stopped. Turned the water off and it started again. On off. Then it was gone. There was no water running anywhere in the house, either time. Any idea what is going on? Presumably the faucet is the only thing that could possible be doing it; but no water was running and it wasn't leaking, so i don't see how it could be making noise. The faucet is a single handle; some European brand.

Hi there, we bought this house a year ago and was told the drains needed to have routine maintenance on them. My knowledge level with this is very low. I thought it would be easy to find out what that maintenance would be but I can't find information online because I'm not sure what I am searching for. Floor drain just shows newer home PVC type set ups without the big concrete hole. What is this drain called? How do I maintain it? We did have a bad smell the other day, coming from this small room, for a short period that just went away. The water level hasn't changed so I assume it is still primed? don't think its gas from the sewage system? When we bought the house the inspector took a picture and now it looks different than it did so maybe that can help identify the issue? The level seems the same but the colour has a blue oily tint to it now..
