Gas: Stainless Log Lighter - can i use brass fitting

Thanks in advance - I have a stainless Santa Maria grill being delivered which has a stainless log lighter. I already have a natural gas outdoor connection, and have identified all of the hose/fittings i need to connect to the grill/log-lighter; however, before i pull the trigger, thought i'd check to see if connecting a brass fitting to the stainless log lighter is ok. Log lighter connection is a 3/8 female flare - would be connecting a 3/8 male flare elbow then hose, then nat gas quick connect.

Welcome to the forums.

It would helpful to have the model number or a link to your grill.

I'm not following exactly what you are trying to do.
Typically there is a stainless steel burner that is connected to a brass orifice, air adjustment shutter, gas valve and then some type of external connection.

It's a custom grill - here is what I'm connecting to. just want to know if i there is any issue using a brass fitting to connect to the end of the stainless log-lighter. I don't do much work with gas, so i'm being extra cautious.

As long as it's the proper fitting that fits that burner..... brass is ok to use there.

That just looks like a tube with holes in it. Any air inlet ?
