Cold Water Faucet Sputters and Bangs

I don't think that will be cartridge as newer or current faucets are. It should be the typical stem and washer available at any hardware or home improvement store.

Sounds like you have air trapped in the pipes.

I have heard that the noise can be caused by air in the pipes but would it also be causing the water to sputter out like that? The hot water faucet works fine.

It can. Open all your faucets, hot and cold. Let them run about a minute. See if that purges any air in the pipes.

I don't think it's air in the pipes. I am thinking the cold water cartridge needs changing. I am pretty sure it's a Gerber fixture. I am attaching a photo. Anyone know how easy it is to get a replacement cartridge?
