Cool

I have noticed a leak at the front base of the tub whether the shower or the tub is used. Water accumulates at the seam of the floor just at the front corner of the tub. What do you think?

NEED A LITTLE

MORE TO WORK WITH?
DO YOU HAVE SHOWER DOOR?
CURTAIN?
ANY STAINS ON CIELING BELOW?
FIRST OR SECOND FLOOR CAN YOU GET AT THE DRAIN?
IS THERE A CLOSET TO SEE IF THE SHOWER VAULVE IS LEAKING?

Cool bathtub leak

This is an older house, one story. The bathtub has a curtain. I do not see any stains on the ceiling or wall. The water appears to go down the front side of the tub where the wall and tub meet and then on the floor. Hope this additional information is helpful in solving my problem.

Debra,

Make sure all the trim for the valve is tight to the surround, including the tub spout, and caulked for a water tight seal, any gaps that could be there can allow water to get into that wall and shortly arrive on your floor line.

What kind of surround is there, tile? It could be bad grout.

How old is the tile? If the tile grout sealant is bad, water can pass right through the grout lines, and you never even know it's happening. This is only a possibilty, check all other sorcces before deciding it's the tile.
