Leaking joint in sewer pipe

I had a new sewer pipe installed in my basement a couple years ago. Now it is leaking at the joint. The " specialist" that did the job disappeared, so the problem is now mine. How to fix the leak without replacing the joint and the pipe?

What kind of pipe do you have; cast iron, galvanized steel with threaded connections, ABS, PVC?

It's white color PVC. Thank you for your attention.

There is no proper way to repair a joint that once was glued and is now leaking. It's very easy to cut out the leaking joint and replace with a short section of pipe and two coupling fittings.

Hi, Before I would cut out the pipe I would try some Epoxy on it. sand the surface to rough it little . Wipe it down then apply the epoxy. J B Weld is one brand. Get It at a hardware or Bug Box store.
