2nd floor toilet(20 years old) must be flushed twice. my third floor toilet no problem and first floor ok too. why won't it flush 1st time?? 1 family 60 yr old home.

That toilet may be one of the low-flow so-called "water saver" toilets, or you may have a plastic toy, toothbrush, curler, etc., hung up in the built-in trap of the toilet.
Try feeding a plumber's auger snake into the trap and crank away. If that doesn't open it up, you may have to pull the toilet and try to dislodge it from underneath, if that is the problem.
Go to "Repair/Fix-It" above and to and look in the Plumbing sections under Toilets for illustrated how-to info.
