For about a year it's been leaking from the stem when on, it would (I believe) completely shut off without leaking. I had a dual hose adapter on it so not completely sure. Last weekend it would not shut off, the knob didn't come to a stop and continued to turn. I had it set to a position where it would hardly leak with a dual hose adapter connected with both valves off. I'd turn the water off in the house when I wasn't home and overnight. I referenced my post here from 4 years ago. Thanks to those that helped back then which likely helped again with this project. I had a small leak after about 20 minutes 4 years ago. Reviewing the old posts, last night I bought Rectorseal #5 pipe dope and applied that over the teflon threads. Time will tell - but haven't seen a leak for several minutes. I turned the water off again and opened the faucet thinking that may help the pipe dope cure better or faster. I wonder if I just have bad luck or are the standard priced plumbing components in big box stores inferior? This time I bought a more expensive silcock recommended by the plumber who will be installing a well water filter system for me next week. It was about $14 more than the brand I bought that was defective after a few years.

I have a new gas service for an addition on my home, gas line coming in is 1 inch and I'm going to 4 appliances, dryer, stove, h/w heater, and a boiler. I'm not sure if I can run 1 inch all the way then branch off to 1/2 inch going to the appliances or if I can drop down to 3/4 inch somewhere along the line then to 1/2 inch. Sent a diagram where my line has to go below, any help would be appreciated, thanks
