Hi All, I notice that my outside spigot has been dripping at the bottom, even with the handle completely closed. Looking at some online videos, it appears that I may have to remove the spindle and replace the bottom washer, to seal the valve seat shut. Need help with how to remove my spindle though. See photo in link below. Is the nut with the red arrow the one I'm supposed to turn to remove the spindle? I gave it a quick try, but it wouldn't budge, so I want to be safe before forcing it some more. Thanks in advance! Hi all, I hope everybody is well! I am new to plumbing, but I am a DIYer in all other areas, so I think I can succeed in completing this project: I want to bring a hot water line to my garage . Let's start by providing you with some information on how the current cold water line runs to the garage. Everything is in the basement, the basement and the garage, share a concrete wall. The cold water line is all copper from the water tank, pretty long, I would say 40'. The good thing is that I have a drop ceiling in the basement, so I have access to the copper pipes. However, I never had any issues with the line you see in the picture. The first thing I want to do is to have clear ideas on the route the pipe should follow to get next to the existing one. My question: [list] [*]Could I use a PEX instead of the copper one? I think it would make things much easier because I do not need to solder, saving me some time. [*]Once I get to the concrete wall, I assume I have to get the line on the other site, therefore drill a hole, so that I have two separated pipes, one for cold and the other for hot water, am I correct? Unless you suggest alternatives. [*]Tap: which one? I typically use a hose and a connector, but I want to be able to adjust the water temperature, but I have no idea which kind of taps are on the market for this kind of application.
