Angry Bath Faucet Clog

My Hansgrohe bath sink single lever faucet continually clogs with deposits (lime?) every couple of months. Only hot supply clogs. I take apart the supply line and remove the deposits and it works fine. Is there anything I can do to prevent the deposits from recurring so i don't have to disassemble every couple of months?

Have you ever drained and flushed your water heater?

When you say "clogs" is the flow of water stopping or does the spray go wonky from mineral deposits?

The flow almost stops. If I turn the lever to cold supply it is fine.

Haven't drained the water heater lately (years). I'll try that.

Thanks
