I was trying to remove bath tub drain using extractor (as there was no t) but flange of drain broke off from half of thread portion (due to corrosion of threads) resulting in some part of threaded portion of drain stuck in the pipe. How do i remove remaining portion of threaded drain from pipe to install a new drain. Tyr using extractor but it will not catch on to threads stuck inside pipe as tool diameter is bigger
Hi,
This is my first post.
I am adding new bathroom in the basement. I gave the work to a contractor. The new bathroom pipes needs to be connected to the sewer line. After digging the foundation, the contractor notified that there is a crack in sewer line (cast iron) on the upper side of the pipe. I can see the crack but there is no visible leakage. He is asking for additional $4000 to replace the sewer pipe which is 30 to 40 feet long under the foundation.
I live in NJ.
What is the best approach? Is the amount reasonable. Are there better options
Any advise will be helpful.
Thank you

I don't think it is sewage... It does not stink.
There is some water in the basement from nearby wall cracks... Possibly related?
What kind of talent do I need to address this?
Might I be lucky and only need to seal it up somehow?
