Outdoor faucet has a leak due to the handle not being able to close all the way. Something on the inside is worn or stripped. The handle only closes to a certain point and once you pass that point it opens up again. I tried to replace the handle but it had no screw. I tried to unscrew the handle all the way off and that didn’t work. Not sure what to do now? Help!
here’s a picture of that handle of that helps at all…
Great! Thanks for the link. Because I don’t know much about this stuff I have to ask this question. Do I just unscrew the valve out of the pvc fitting or can I unscrew the fitting itself from the pipe. (If that’s possible).
Unscrew the brass valve from the pvc fitting. You'll want two wrenches, one holding the PVC fitting and one unscrewing the valve - otherwise you'll be at risk of breaking the pvc.
When you replace the valve, use some pipe dope/thread sealant on the valve threads. That'll help ensure a good drip-free seal.
If it were me, I'd add a 3/4" elbow between the PVC and the valve, so you don't always end up with a kink in the hose. Something like this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/B-K-3-4-in-...ing/1000505753
But obviously it's an optional addition.
New problem (or at least I think it is): I bought the boiler drain valve and the 3/4” elbow. I was testing it out to make sure it all fit and when I screw the valve into the elbow, the hose connection is in the upward position when it is screwed in all the way.
You need to put some thread sealant or teflon tape on the threads.
When you tighten..... you tighten to where the valve is pointing in the wanted direction.
Take the valve back out. Put some tape on the threads and screw it back in but stop before it's tight and pointing in the correct direction. It shouldn't leak. If it does.... you'll need to tighten it more to get it to come around a full turn.
I was adjusting the shower head and the shower pipe snapped off (see attached) .
Is there a tool i can inert into the pipe that will allow me to remove the broken section inside ?
thanks

Hi everyone,
I was checking the TDS of my water and it looks like my cold water taps all over the house have TDS around 110 ppm but the hot water taps are 220 ppm. Is that normal? If it's all the hot water taps, I'm assuming the source is early on in the pipes or the hot water heater (which was replaced last year). Any ideas no what could be happening on what could be a fix?
Thanks!
