Drain Bladder

Drain Bladder
I have been living at this house for over 20+ years. Last year, it was the first time where the drain to my washing machine clogged and for days, I did not understand why as this has never happened. Later, I found the usage of a drain bladder to clear the blockage. It has been a year of normal washing until this week, it clogged again. Of course, I have used the drain bladder again.
But I wonder is this from the pandemic and everyone is working from home, causing the drains and sewages to be over worked? Or is there more to this? Again, it started last year.

The clog was very likely within your home where other's actions wouldn't affect. So, it's all you.

I believe you Dane. After flushing the washing machine drain with the drain bladder yesterday, when I went inside to wash the dishes, I noticed there is a back flush a bit when I turned on the garbage disposal. I have been cooking at home 80% more in the last year (vs the last 20 years) and although I do not throw stuffs down the garbage disposal, the crap that goes from the sink drain to the main drain, may be affected and causing the clog? Also, does the toilet use the same drain pipes?

Often times when people have repeated clogs, it means there's either:
1) an original clog that wasn't really cleared. Just cleared enough to drain, but still had enough gunk to catch other stuff and clog again.
2) A piping issue - broken pipe, dip in the pipe, etc, that tends to catch things and repeatedly cause clogs
3) Things going down the drain that shouldn't be. "Flushable" wipes, baby wipes, and cleaning wipes are the biggest offender and should never be flushed. Women's products cause havoc too in the pipes. Don't pour grease down the kitchen sink either.
Your drain lines may need a proper snaking to clear them out of however many years of who knows what.

Didn't see it mentioned..... sewer or septic ?
Can you see the drain pipes in the basement ?
It can be very helpful to just look at the drain plumbing and get an idea of where everything connects and if there is a probable clog area.
I have 50 year old cast iron for the main in the basement and one joint near a Y always clogs. I can pop the cleanout, snake it and it's fine. I'm guessing there is a sharp edge there as a paper clog is common. It's a little too far for a visual inspection without a camera.

ZorfDT, in regards to your #2, I had a slab leak in 2019. I hired a company to put in flex pipes for the entire house. but that is the water coming into the house, not the drain system. One thing you maybe correct is the snaking part. Since now you mentioned it, I remember last month, my neighbors had a plumbing company came out and snaked their drains in the backyard closed to their sinks.
Pete, I don't know what if it is sewer or septic. All i know is the drain system where the washing machine connects to.
Basement? What is a basement?
It is California.
