2nd floor toilet backed up
Hey guys, our upstairs toilet backed up, we tried a plunger for quite a while then it started running but still slower than norm. Bud of mine who does construction said it might be the wax ring which needs changing, I am thinking we first try a toilet auger but what do you guys think please, should we just remove the bowl and change the ring or try the auger?
If the auger first, I am seeing 3' and 6' sizes at HD, which one would I need from this list? Thx.

Wax rings don't cause a toilet to back up. You need an auger. Are you buying one? Because they rent them.
A bad wax ring would cause a leak around the toilet when you flush.

Thx. Yes, best we buy one for future purposes since we have 4 toilets in this house. Can you advise me on which one from the list please?

Might as well get the longer Ridgid one. You'd be pretty upset if the 3ft one didn't do it and you had to go get the 6ft one.
