My dishwasher valve won't shut off hot water. Can I shut off at water heater? There are two ball valves at top of water heater one cold coming in and one hot going out, Do I shut both off or just the hot?

Welcome to the forums.
If you ever close both valves...... you MUST turn the water heater off to eliminate over pressurizing.
Typically you'd turn off the cold water valve.

Thaks for the help. I got it done. Now I am trying to find an elbow hose that runs from the circulator pump to the sump. It's a GE dishwasher. Seems you have to get the pump to get a 5-dollar hose. LOL Go figure.

What's the part number of your GE dishwasher? There are folks here who are really good with finding parts.
