The tailpiece of the bathroom tub broke off. How do I reattach it?
Looks like I need a new tailpiece. Is that a 1 1/4" threaded tailpiece? Do I need to untigthen the nut that is right under the sink and remove the piece of pipe that is above the arrow? Can I fit a pvc tailpiece to a chrome p trap?
Thanks
Looks to me like you need to replace the entire sink pop-up drain and then probably extend it with a 6" tailpiece or a 12" tailpiece that you cut to length. Yes, a pvc tailpiece will work with the chrome trap, you just need to use the same size. Either 1 1/2 or 1 1/4, whichever it is.
It is very important that you consider/inspect the condition of the trap and drain line connection in the wall before attempting to replace the entire trap. That looks like older plumbing and removing the P trap from the wall will not be an easy task.
Forgive my ignorance, but we had a plumber install a whole house filter. For some reason he didn't put down any drop cloth or anything so there is like silver soldering splatter on my painted concrete basement floor. How do I remove it. It seems like melted into the floor. Thank you.
My hot water heater started knocking so I took step to clean it.
Turned out the knocking was coming from inside a wall.
I have a wall that separates my 2 from my 3 car garage.
The previous owner took a water softer with them when they sold the place, the piping is still there for it.
That piping runs back inside the wall down low. Turns out the knocking is inside that wall when pressure is relieved/water is in use inside the house.
What would be in the wall to cause this?
