Why are some hardware (specifically in the 3/8" and 1/2") using different thread types? Last week I was very frustrated with a sink connection that was hard to tighten and still leaked. Then I looked at the threads. errrr!

the angle stops that extend up thru the cabinet floor or thru the wall is a compression thread usually 3/8 or 1/2
while the faucet shank is 1/2 IPS,Iron pipe size.
