I replaced an old Temptrol shower valve. When attempting to install the new trim, I noticed I’m missing the seat (?) into which I would screw the trim plate. Can anyone tell me what this part is called and where I can find it? I tried Home Depot, searched online, etc. it’s the original valve but I did replace the stem. Thanks!
Those two valves don't look the same. Those two parts on the new valve are service ports.
Service port valves.... to turn off the hot and cold water for local servicing.
Hi all- A quick update on the below. I emailed Symmons again and I got this back:
“Thank you so much for the picture of the valve, and that is definitely a Temptrol valve, therefore I ordered you model # T-52, it's a stop spindle assembly,”
So they sent me this although it’s definitely not the exact part so maybe they updated this particular part? The screws are the same though. It’s the insert that’s different.
so I removed the screws (parts on right) but I can’t remove the original spindle. Definitely looks like it should unscrew:
I tried the Symmons t-32 universal seat removal tool as well as a needle nose pliers with no luck (maybe a non Symmons tool?).
Funny.. this is the last task the is preventing me from competing an entire bathroom remodel.
We turned off the water supply going outside of the house during winter and we just turn that supply back on but there's no water coming out of the outside faucet. The lever connected to ball valve stem seems to be turning the stem properly and we pull the lever up and down a couple of times but not sure if ball is actually reopening properly. We turned on the drain valve while toggling the lever to see if any water come out, but there's no water coming out of the drain valve. Could something have been dislodged like mineral buildup that blocks the line or the ball valve is broken? Thanks.

Installing a new tub drain that comes with a rubber seal underneath it but not sure if I should place a line of plumbers putty between that and the tub surface. Would it hurt at all? I got this drain from Amazon and the instructions said to use plumbers putty but not sure if that's the correct advice. See attached photo.
Thanks!
