Bathroom Faucet mixer line

I have installed a motion sensor head on my faucet. It has been working great.

In order for this to work, I have to leave the faucets on. I understand the water hot cold supply lines are strong and can be under pressure. However, the concern is the mixer lines. Usually it does not have to withstand pressure as its function is to mix hot and cold water. If I leave the faucet in the on position, overtime from pressure, stress and wear n tear, can the mixer hose line burst under the sink? This would be a concern if I am not at home as it can flood the entire house.

Yes, it is a possibility. Like any flex or plastic line they do age and become brittle, crack...

If you have fears, can the lines be SS braided instead?

Yes, I do have fear and your suggestion is a good option if I can find it in metal ss braid for a mixer line.

I don't know if this will fit but the duralock is still in questioned since it is plastic.

The actual Duralock fitting (although I don't like them) is probably fine. What I find is that the nylon or braided plastic most often dry rot at the crimp connection. The line is braided SS and that's what counts. I think you'll be good with this.

Thanks Norm. That part is for Moen.

I just realized that my faucet is a Glacier from HomeDepot. I am not sure if it will fit but I have placed an order already.

I could have placed an order for this one instead but it kind of defeat the purpose since it is not metal.

I doubt the MOEN will fit. Order the Glacier and just keep a watch on it. If it's going to break it will take several years. 5 -6 years from if you notice the braiding getting a slightly off color or yellowish, it's time for it to break.

FWIW...Glacier Bay is considered low end (contactor stuff) (don't mean to say you bought cheap but if didn't know then how would you know?) When an excuse arises go buy a Moen, or a Price Phister, or a Am STD or Delta. Most have a lifetime warranty and do in fact back it up. Not so with the cheaper brands. But if this is your only mistake in buying fixtures, consider yourself lucky. We all do it sooner or later.

Thanks norm.

All of my shower fixtures are moen. All of the sinks are Glaciers. Not sure how that ended up like that beside if it fits the eyes and price points during that time.

I ordered the hose for the moen already and will let you know if it fits or not.

Well it's better that way then the other way. Chaning out a shower or tub fixture can be costly vs a sink.

Just to update you Norm. You are right. The Moen mixer hose did not fit in my Glacier. I did find it at Home Depot online for $8 so I order it already.

Thanks
