Slab leak repair OCD.

Hi guy, i had a slab leak repair a few months ago and i just noticed this picture of the repair. I asked the plumber if the cold water line needs to be replaced since it was turning green and he said that the copper pipe was very thick and green on a pipe dosent mean it will crumble and the pipe was in good shape. I wanted to ask the community if i have anything to worry about. Also the hot water pipe leaked because there was a rock that was sitting on it for about 30 years and it gave in.

It's likely Type K copper (Green), which is the thickest type of copper pipe and is typically used underground. The green is just surface oxidation and doesn't indicate any issue.

The fact that the other pipe broke due to a rock, indicates to me that there's nothing to worry about.

Although no one can foresee the future.... I'd agree that your other line is ok.
The fact that there was a rock against the pipe means the lines were not installed correctly originally.
There is supposed to be sand around the lines to protect them.

Thanks PJ.

i asked the plumber how would a rock sit on the pipe ane he said when sub divisons (located in south jersey) it probably were builinding all the houses at once very quickly so it was probably overlooked when they poured the slab. My luck i buy the only house in thr subdivison with that happening lol.

Building the houses as quick as possible and cutting as many corners as possible.

Doubtful your house will be the only one.
If there was rock under the pipe and in the fill..... sooner or later...it will happen again.
