It's a normal condition with copper, the coating is a natural result of oxidation, not any cause for concern.

People pay big bucks for "patina" need to love it!

Ok but I just wanted to be able to clean it off make it look nicer and more desirable for offering up for sale, and just in general.

Use some very fine grit sandpaper or a Scotch-Brite pad to mechanically remove it.

You could make a polishing paste of distilled vinegar, a little salt and a little flour.
Put the paste on the copper pipe and remove with a towel or sponge.

Not matter what you do it will be labor intensive.
You can probably make more money scrapping the copper.

Lemon juice and salt or baking soda also works. The Scotchbrite pad will shine it up but will give you a real workout doing that much. I don't think I'd spend my time doing it, but you asked.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping for maybe a lazier method like being able to drop the whole coil into a tub of some solution and have it soak until the corrosion loosens enough just to rinse off
