I have a toilet with the newer cup float mechanism that now refills very slowly. Once full it works fine in all other respects. The angle stop is open full. Is there a way to fix this short of replacing the whole mechanism?

Cool

Sometimes debris can get in them, and you can carefully and partially unscrew the float cup assembly from the base to allow the water pressure to blow it out.
Be careful, or you will have a geyser in your bathroom.
You can get a repair kit, but the whole assembly only costs about $7 bucks, and you're much better off just replacing it.
It's easy. Just follow the directions with a new Fluid Master assembly.
Good Luck!
