In the last 2 months my water bill has doubled twice. I'm assuming I have a leak somewhere that's getting worse! What's the quickest way to find a leak? Where do I start to look?? This is my first (mobile) home and I am new to all home maintainence but just need some guidance! HELP PLEASE!! Thanks :-) (I think my water pipes are black, that's all I know right now)

Cool

I'm assuming that you have checked under the mobile home and found no visible leak. If not, do that first.
Next, to determine if you have an underground leak, if you're on public water, turn off your main water cutoff at the home, and check the meter.
It will have little dial or triangle on it. If the dial or triangle is moving at all, you have a leak between the meter and your home. (The triangle normally spins rapidly when a faucet is on. If there is no leak, it will be at a dead stop.)
If you're on a well and pump, the pump will cycle on and off intermittently when everything is supposed to be off, if you have a leak.
If you have black plastic flex hose for a water line, those are usually connected with king nipples and hose clamps. The hose clamps can rust underground and break, causing a leak.
Get a shovel and start digging at the meter until you find the leak. A new clamp may solve the problem.
Good Luck!
