water heater, washer connection

Question

I need to disonnect the water supply from my water heater so I can replace it. How do I do this? Also, I need to disconnect the hot water connection to my washer. Which line is the hot water line?

Washer: Hot water lines are on the left, if plumbed properly. Turn the spigot off, and replace the washer hoses ( always replace BOTH).
Water Heater: Your water heater should have a cold water supply line with a cutoff on it. If it doesn't, install one. The outgoing hot water line whouldn't have a cutoff valve.
