Unhappy

I have a kohler toilet, only 3 years old. The assembly has a float that goes up and down a shaft, not a ball on an arm. It sticks when the toilet is filling and won't come up unless you give it a nudge.

I've run the float up and down the shaft to see if there's anything stopping it, but it seems to fly freely. What do I do? Should I spray with a lubricant of some sort?
Thank you.

Cool

You can try spraying it with some type of spray lube, but if it keeps sticking, I would just replace it.
Get a FluidMaster float-cup type assembly like you have. They only cost $7-$8 bucks, and are easy to install. Just follow the directions.
Good Luck!
