HELP! ... I have a house about 5 years old and have recently started hearing a high pitched noise when faucets are turned-on or the toilets are flushed. The problem appears to be a general one with all faucets and toilets. It does not appear specific to any one or two faucets or toilets. I've tried adjusting the water pressure by adjusting the main cold water intake valve and have also adjusted the hot water feed with no luck. Any suggestions?

Cool

If you are on public water, you likely have a Pressure Reducing Valve on your main water line (probably near your main house cut-off valve).
Sounds like it may need adjusting, repair, or replacement.
Check out your system for the PRV, and try turning the top screw down to reduce the pressure.
Good Luck!
