Unhappy

I just experienced the problem for the first time today...My wife and I have been in our new home for a few months (the house was built in '68.) When the two faucets were turned on, the water came out a yellowish brown color, but only for the cold water. The toilets were also the same way. I let the water run for a few minutes and everything appears to have cleared up.

My questions are: Is this something I should be worried about? What could have caused this? I read in some other posts about people having similar issues, but usually after they had done some plumbing work in the house. Is there a reason it only affected the cold water upstairs and nowhere else? Why not the hot, too?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Cool

It could have come from work on a public water line that just made its way into your cold water line.
Don't worry about it, unless it persists (probably just a shot from corrosion somewhere).
Good Luck!
