Shower Faucet/Head Not Working Correctly

In order to turn on the shower in my bathroom, you turn on the faucet in the bathtub, and when the temperature reaches what you want you pull up a lever that sits on the faucet, which is supposed to cause the water to stop coming out the faucet and come out the showerhead instead.

In my case, when I pull up the lever, only about 1/2 of the water comes out of the showerhead, and the rest continues to come out of the faucet, which does not make for good shower pressure. In addition, I often have to jiggle the lever a couple times in order to get the water to come out the shower head at all.

How can this be fixed?

You need to replace the spout, it is either a slip on type which will have an allen screw holding it in place, or it will be a screw on type, replace it with one just like it.
