Vent requirements

I am wanting to relocate my kitchen sink. How far away from the 3", main waste pipe can I run my 1 1/2" sink drain, before it requires an additional vent pipe?

Code Check-Plumbing-Vents
I just completed the rough on the plumbing for an addition. I used a wet vent for the sink. In my case I could use the drain for the sink as the vent since it was less than 42" from the main vent for the bathroom. Reason being: more than 42" and using the 1/4" per foot drain, the vent opening will be closed. Use the link to Code check. A great site for building, plumbing, electrical and some mechanical codes. These are generic per association governing the trade. Local codes may(will) differ.

You might be able to use an auto-vent, if you can't make your 1/4" per linear foot slope in the drainline to the stack.
It installs in the drainline under sink (after the trap).
Good Luck!
