Wink

I have a bath tub that will not drain unless I hold down the drain. I have been told that I need to replace the switch. If this is true, how do I do this and what do I need to do it.

Cool

There are different types of tub drain assemblies.
Here is a typical one:

The first thing that you have to do is unscrew the two bolts holding the overflow plate counter-clockwise, and then pull out whatever assembly that you have.
If it all doesn't come out, you'll have to fish the rest of it out with a piece of clotheshanger wire or something, and repair or replace it.
The toggle on the overflow plate is simply connected with a cotter pin, and that is probably what they're talking about (and may be your only problem).
Just pull it all out and check it.
Good Luck!
