Angry Drain Odor

I have just moved into a condo. I have a noticed an awful foul odor coming from my bathroom sink. The kitchen and tub are both ok. I have tried everything from liquid plumber to baking soda to potent main sewer line cleaner. It still smells. HELP! The drain isn't clogged and all is going down fast. WHAT ELSE. I have check for other possible causes and do not smell anything near openings in the walls...but as soon as i smell the drain PHEW! please.....help.

Cool

There probably is some gunk build-up either in the sink tailpiece and/or the overflow drain (most likely suspect) of the sink.
Remove the stopper, and clean out any hair, soap scum, etc. that you can see in the tailpiece and trap.
Then squirt some bleach or other strong disinfectant into the drain AND the overflow, and then flush it with hot water until it cleans out.
Should get rid of the odor.
Good Luck!
Mike
