Question shower & tub faucet run at same time

Repiped home using pex with Vanguard manifold. Installed Moen single handle Shower/Bathtub combination fixture. When water is flowing out of bathtub faucet with faucet knob midway between hot/cold, some water also comes out of the shower head. Moen sent me a cartridge repair kit but this did not solve the problem.

Any suggestions?

Too much pressure, maybe, high rate of flow, water needs to go somewhere. You can install in shower shut off before the shower head.

I'm going to pull the faucet to see if I have a problem with the diverter. If that doesn't work then I will install a shutoff valve in the shower head supply line and/or tweak the hot/cold manabloc valves. Is there any benefit to upsizing the line running from the valve to the bathtub faucet and shower head from 1/2" to 3/4" diameter pex? Should I check the distance between fixtures?

Size will make no differance, distance will have no effect.

Is the diverter not on the spout it's self?

The diverter is part of the spout.

Thanks again for your advice.

To much flow, you best option is to install a shut off at the shower head. Then when you want to use the shower open the shut off and lift the diverter on the spout.
