Unhappy Leaking bathtub drain in almost inaccessible location.

I have a leaking bathtub drain right under the bathtub. The drain is in a horrible location to try and reach.I am able to get my arm through a hole in the wall of the room behind the bathtub, and I have been able to put slip joint pliers on drain connections. I have tightened all connections but the drain continues to drip when the tub is drained.
Is their any product like a stop leak that could be put down the drain, or is their any type of product that could be applied around outside of the pipe that would stop this dripping???
I am on a septic system so I have to be careful not to stop it from working.
Any help on this problem would sure be appreciated.

In all likelyhood, the drain was installed through the same hole you are trying to repair it through. I wouldn't recommend uny sort of product that claims to seal a leaky pipe, from the inside or from the outside. I would simply replace the washers in the drain, or replace the entire drain.
