Question cast/porcelain tub removal?

Is it possible to remove a porcelain coated cast iron tub
by breaking it into pieces with a sledge hammer? This tub
is very heavy and I hope to get it out without getting a great deal
of help from others. I have already disconnected all the connections in regard to pipes.

A sledge hammer will break out a cast iron tub very well. Just be careful not to get too carried away. The sledge hammer will also move the walls around the tub and can crack the sheetrock on either side of the walls.

You will also want to, without sounding like your dad, make sure you have heavy gloves, saftey glasses & jeans on. The enamel on the cast iron likes to fly everywhere and is VERY sharp and so can the cast iron. Even a full facial shield would be advisable this stuff can be wicked when you your hammering away!!Hope this helps
