Question White granules in all faucet screens?

I have been finding white granules in my faucet screens, I clean them out but they return and clog up the water flow. Any ideas what this may be and how I can remedy this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FYI: I have a gas water heater that is about 5 years old and all the plumbing is copper. My water comes from the city, it is not well water.

Cool

This is most likely particles from a deteriorating dip tube that carries the cold water supply to be bottom inside the water heater tank.
There was a dip tube class action lawsuit, but you missed the 12/31/2000 deadline.
You have to replace your dip tube, and flush your water heater.

Good Luck!
