Question Boiling Water melting DWV joints

Our distiller drains into our washer, sewage pump out lines. It has been repaired a couple of times. It appears that the glue is melting. Is there a special glue or better solution?

Depending on how hot the water is entering that drain it will never be right. PVC is NOT designed to withstand very much heat. Including the glue that holds it together. You will need to have the water cooled before it hits the drain or change drain material. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help. Time to call a plumber for cast iron maybe.

You might try some kind of a homemade "cooler" if you will. If you can come up some way of adding some water with that hot water to take some of the heat out you might get by with PVC. I don't know??

PVC is rated to 140 F. CPVC is rated to 210 F. You might try switching to CPVC. Generally Distillers do not put out waste water anywhere near this temperature - your condensation process would be very inefficient. You might want to look at your water flow for the condensor.
