Question Water Issues- Wash Machine/Water Heater/Bathtub

Hi there.

My wash machine and my water heater are located downstairs and my bathtub is located upstairs.

While washing a load of laundry downstairs, I heard water coming from my bathtub faucet upstairs. Clean water. However, the faucet was OFF.

I turned off the water supply to the water heater and the problem stopped. However, this created a new problem.

Now, when I turn on the bathroom sink, the bathtub faucet runs even though it is in the off position. It appears to be clean water, not drain water from the bathroom sink.

When I turn on the bathtub faucet, NO water comes out of the bathroom sink (as it shouldn't).

I am thinking that if I can resolve the first problem , the second one will go away too. For the time being, at least I can stop the constant flow of water by turning off the water supply to the water heater.

Any ideas what is going on here?

- Tim

No idea what is going on there, without being there and seeing this for myself, I don't have a clue. You might have a local plumber come in and see what is going on there.
