Hair trap
#1

I am putting a Dog Grooming shop in our basement and will have to drain tub water into our septic. This drainage will be contaminated with dog hair. Does anyone know of a source for an inline hair trap, with emptying capabilities.

Easiest solution:
Just get a normal strainer cover for your drain (you may have to replace the drain itself with one that comes with a strainer...they just unscrew and you put plumber's putty under the lip to re-install).
I bathe our live-in German Shepherd in our downstairs tub, and the strainer catches most all of the hair. As the tub drains, it collects the hair in a blob on the strainer, and I just pick it out and throw it in the trash.
Use a good enzyme-based drain cleaner, such as DrainCare, on a regular basis. It eats and dissolves hair, soap scum, etc. overnight, and you just flush it down with hot water.
Good Luck!
