Toilets

I have a new house (2 years old). One of the toilets has developed a problem. Each flush causes a loud noise very similar to a choking noise. I have read the descriptions of a water hammer and the noise does not seems to resemble the rattling noise typically associated with a water hammer. Also, I have tried closing the water supply to the tank and this causes the noise to disappear. In other words the noise seems to be related to the tank being filled as opposed to the toilet flush. Can you help me understand and fix this issue. Also, the noise is quite loud and can be heard through the house. Is this a problem with the water line to the tank ? Appreciate any input in this regard.

Thanks

Sounds like the ball **** valve is your culprit. Try a Fluidmaster, it should solve your problem.

Thanks again joelp. The valve was definitely the problem. It was chipped.
