Low water pressure in shower only

We have recently been experiencing low water pressure from the shower only. I have checked the washers and even changed the spindle but still pressure is very low. Does this have something to do with the connections of the shower arm or spindle and washers as every other tap in the house seems to have normal pressure.

Cool

This most likely has to do with the showerhead being clogged by hard minerals in the water.
You can remove it and soak it in vinegar overnight, OR you can fill a baggie half-full of vinegar and tape or rubber band it over the showerhead without removing it.
Either way, it will dissolve the minerals.
Good Luck!

I have a similar problem. Mine is with hot water, only at the kitchen sink. The pressure is really low. Everywhere else is OK, even in the half bath farther away from the h20 heater. I have tried adjusting the valve underneath, no luck. Actually made it worse. Help! Of course, it's where I need pressure most. Incidentally, the upstairs shower is acting funny, too. You have to turn the hot farther than you used to to get the same temp. What do you think, Guys? (The house is 6 y/o.)

Cool

What type of faucets do you have?
Brand? Single-handle? Dual handle?

Dual handle. The cold pressure is fine.

Cool

Then it's probably just a standard compression valve like this:

Replace the washer on the end of the stem.
Turn the water off.
Remove the handle and the retaining nut, pull out the valve stem, take it to the store with you, and get a washer that fits.
Good Luck!

Thanks Mike. That should be simple enough. I will surely let you know. Denise
