Question utility room floor drain

Had a problem with my new washer draining and having suds come up through the floor drain in the utility room. I've cut back on the soap drastically. Suggestion made was that the drain was slow. I'm now prepared to snake the drain. The only prob is that the floor drain is partly obstructed by the hot water tank, and I wondered about snaking through the standing pipe used to drain the washer, or do I have to go through the floor drain?

Use whichever drain is easiest to get to. Both are tied together. Floor drain needs to have plug taken out of side. Wash machine riser has a trap to go through.

Have fun and take your time with the drain machine.
