Question Toilet - Smart Valve 2000

I had a new American Standard toilet installed in December. The float is referred to as the "smart valve 2000". It doesn't really float, so I'm not sure how it works. Anyway, I've started having problems with it. About a month ago, it would not stop making noise after flushing - sounded like air coming out of the float. The float has a cap on it which I tighted or loosened which generally stopped the hissing sound. Today however, the tank began to fill up just out of the blue. I had not used this toilet since yesterday. Fortunately, I heard water going in and was able to shut the water to the toilet off because it was going in faster than the overflow could handle. Anyone else had problems with this type of float? Any advice?

Cool

I'm not familiar with the Smart Valve 2000 (that one doesn't sound too smart), so I would just replace it with a Fluidmaster 400A toilet tank valve (about $6-$7 bucks).

Just follow the installation directions that come with it. Easy.
Good Luck!
