Question Cleaning well water pipes / system

I read a recent posting saying well water pipes can be cleaned by adding 3 gallons (or so) of bleach and leaving it in overnight. Can the same procedure be used if we have a septic system in addition to a well or is that too much bleach for the septic?

Cool

Obviously, bleach isn't "good" for septic systems, but the flushing process will greatly dilute it, and normal usage will quickly rebuild the bacteria count that makes it all function.
I've done it and seen it done a number of times on wells and septic systems over the years, and have never heard of anyone having a problem.
You have just 3-4 gallons of bleach going into a 1,000-gallon septic tank of water being flushed with a lot of additional water.
No problem.
Good Luck!
