Pipes rattle when toilet is flushed
#1

Hello. About a month ago there were loud annoying sounds coming from the pipes behind the wall of my toilet when the toilet was flushed. After doing research on the web, I replaced the ballcock assembly with a Fluidmaster. Before doing this I put some dye in the tank to determine if I had a leak. No dye leaked into the bowl. About a week ago, the pipes started making the rattling noise again everytime the toilet is flushed. I live in a 2 bed/2bath condo on the 2nd floor of a 3 story building. What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks.

You can add a water hammer arrester in the line before the shut-off valve to the toilet to see if that will help.
Other wise, you would have to go into the wall to secure the pipes better with clamps and wedges to keep them from banging the framing.
Good Luck!
