toilet vent

I am redoing the shower bathroom in the basement. I decided to move the toilet from its current position to the opposite corner. I was able to run the drain to the main horizontal 4" drain pipe that the original toilet was tied to by cutting and using a rubber T coupler. I've got the 1/4" per foot grading. The original toilet was vented to the roof. Will that still work? Is there a distance requirement between the vent and toilet?

Cool

Yes, there is a distance limit from a fixture to a vent based on the size of the line.
Check with your Building Inspection Department for local plumbing codes. (They vary from place to place.)
Good luck!
