flooded dishwasher

I have a dishwasher (GE Nautilus) that now has a small pond at the bottom. I've checked and there appears to be no blockage of the drain. A couple of days ago there was a clog in the sink that was easily fixed. Has that clog moved down and is now messing with my dishwasher or is this something worse?

do you have a dishwasher airgap? If you have a proper installation water from a clogged sink cant get back to the dishwasher. If you just have a hose that goes under the sink straight to the dishwasher then that was probably the cause. If so, keep an eye on it and see if it happens again. It shouldn't, but you really should have that airgap.

Vent pitch

OK- This may seem like a silly question. What way should the vent pipe pitch to? Up to the vent stack, or down. It makes sense to me that if there is moisture or condensate, it should go DOWN, toward the main stack. If you think about vapors or oders, it makes sense to have the pitch UP, so, which is it UP or Down, and what is the correct pitch - I think i was told 1/4" every 4 ft - is that correct ? Thanks for the help.

My new kitchen faucet (a Moen) will not stay on unless you push the handle all the way up. If you raise it a little to get a small amount of water, the handle slowly slips back down and closes.
